Hi- The Changelog says "+ Fixed project MIDI export (or at least made it less broken)" in v2.99.alpha.preview.2. I've been trying this in v3.alpha.1, and can't get it to work. If I make a selection I get "MIDI export Failed", and if I try to export the whole project it will tell me it's exported n items, but the .mid file is unreadable in other apps as well as in REAPER. Can anyone tell me what's fixed and what the trick is to getting it to work? TIA- -Susan
Hi- Still curious about this. I'd really like to be able to do a MIDI export, even if it's only partially successful, as long as it's readable by other apps. Is anyone using this feature? Thanks- -Susan

Hi Susan G, Here is working almost ok (I hadn't tested MIDI Export yet but now I did thanks to you ;) ). REAPER exports MIDI but If we select determined tracks (1, 2 and 3), set a time selection and then export with obvious options ticked this is what we get when importing such file: I think we should get this instead of above behaviour (edit cursor is placed at 1.1.00):
Hi Mercado- Thanks so much for looking into this!:) I've tried several option settings and I get mixed results, but never quite what I want or expect. I can save MIDI items from the ME, which is fine, but of course I lose its position in the project. I'll keep experimenting, but ultimately what I'd like is to be able to export the entire project to a .mid file (minus the audio, of course) so I can import it into another app. In SONAR, the option is "Save As...Standard MIDI". Thanks again- -Susan

File -> Export project MIDI (from the main window) is meant to export a single multitrack .mid file containing all MIDI content in the project. If you have a project that does not export properly, please post it here or mail it to schwa at cockos dot com so we can fix the problem.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the midi export from Reaper or the midi import into Reason, but here are two screen shots, one is obviously the midi view in Reaper, and the other is the same midi project imported into Reason. The arrangement looks spot on, but I notice that some of the "lengths" of the midi "clips" are not maintained. Hey for me it is close enough (I can stretch the length of the clip in Reason and the notes seem to be the correct length anyhow). But I thought I would post this behaviour and see what you guys make of it
