Is it just me, or do seem to be awfully expensive for what they actually are?

I see your $700 Eq pack and raise you a $1500 for one EQ.

Just plain silly (or very clever marketing... the difference is in the profits).

Agreed. Too expensive. I don't want an iLok either. Although they now do Drums for Kontakt at not a bad price.

the abbey road drums plugin pack is actually a NI product... but it looks DAMN nice. awesome demos. those plugs ARE expensive but they're apparently very good. if they're circuit emulations, they can take a long time to develop so i can kinda understand them being pricey.

for what they are the abbey road plugins are not over priced. people need to remember that they are talking about plugins aimed at a pro market that the "prosumer" market just happens to use aswell. in most other industries the "pro" plugins cost a lot more than in the audio industry (and thats because devs realise that they cater for the 2 markets). just look at audio restoration (cedar etc).. now thats an expensive market!!! i bought the limiter and brilliance pack last year and made my money back on them within 3 weeks. the high end is second to none, the coding is just that good.

the audio (music) industry and the restoration industry are two very very seperate things. and as with everything YMMV but if i can make my money back on an investment in 3 weeks then im happy. they are what they are. also ANYONE paying RRP on a plugin needs their head examined. theres plenty of places around to buy them much cheaper. i dont want to be advertising him on a forum but a certain american plugin dealer goes nearly as low as half the RRP sometimes. *cough* tony belmont *cough* ive bought the entire softube bundle from him at a ridculasly low price! i agree on the lex stuff. im not quite sure what their thinking was.. i mean theres expensive and then theres lexicon! im happy with reverberate and the acousticas impulses for now (a touch of modulation and they sound great). i am very very interested to try this new 480 plug though... and it will be reasonably priced (in comparison to the lex bundle)

Yes i get my Waves plugins from Tony. I have a demo license for the lexicon from him too sat here waiting to go on my ilok. I'm trying to resist the temptation at the moment though as I'm sure my self control would dissapear out of the window once I tried it :) MC
