Excuse me, not a guitar player here, but my bandmate has a Casio Midi guitar, it was made by Ibanez, the sound is very good as electric normal guitar and with the Midi, ok, whatever you want. Good luck Bye
Take the electric and just mic it as though it was an acoustic, with a mic near the 12th fret pointed parallel to the guitar (i.e. across it, rather than at it). This is actually pretty passable for strummy stuff in a dense mix, but it's never going to sound like a delicate solo acoustic. Don't waste time with anything other than actual sound-replacement strategies. There is no combination of processing that makes an electric sound like an acoustic. It's not the wood so much as the actual resonance of open and confined air. Variax or midi solutions might work, but nothing based on eq or whatever is going to sound right. A hollow-body electric is a great way to get the best of both worlds.
I've been pondering the variax for two years now. I gotta admit the thing sounds pretty damn good. It would be a total home run for me at gigs. Only thing that worries me- no pickups. It dies, you die. Always need a back axe in case. I can deal with a little ugly if it gives me a lot of choices. I have other beautiful guitars. The variax would be my gig workhorse. Wait, am I talking myself into it again?! Dan

I remembered I’d got an old Boss AC-2 pedal. I put it through the Line 6 Gearbox amp called Piezacoustic 2 using the neck/middle pickup setting on my Strat. I guess a Podxt would have this setting. Here’s a clip. It sounds (sort of) vaguely acoustic and you might get away with it mixed in with other instruments. I can picture the horrified looks on the faces of acoustic guitar players. Perhaps I'll try tissue paper under the strings next :) Pete
Found Bodilizer as well: - it's free of charge now :) Not exactly sure that you'll get the acoustic sound (have only toyed with it so far) - but it can really change the way your guitar sounds (especially if you're looking for something vintage-sounding). I think it's going to be a great little tool in my collection :) (Uh this is an oooooold thread - sry to wake it from the dead. Hopefully this post can help someone anyhow .... )
Interesting... It is an old thread! and speaking of it being a dead thread, it's kind of weird to see posts from Tedwood, who's soul was uploaded to the cloud some time ago.. But as they say, to say their name is for them to live.
