These guys have been making a splash in the acoustic guitar communities I visit: Stevie Coyle told me he got very satisfactory results by sampling one of his acoustics into the Tonedexter, then playing back the piezo output of a Parker Fly through the Tonedexter using that acoustic sample. I would expect that some kind of aftermarket piezo solution would work with some other solid body guitar. Just in case someone sees this resurrected thread and is trying to solve the same problem. 3 Sigma Audio makes impulses that are supposed to make an electric guitar sound like an acoustic: Each set comes with: * 5 impulses to use with sound recorded my microphone aimed at the sound-hole of your acoustic guitar. * 5 impulses to use with sound recorded from a piezo pickup on your acoustic guitar * 5 impulses to use with sound recorded from your electric guitar I've never used the impulses for electric guitars, so can't say how well they work. But I do use the "sound-hole" impulses to improve the sound of my dull-sounding acoustic guitar, and am pretty happy with it.

Bodilizer crashes my projects - it's quite old now and not updated - What I do is disable it before closing the project which seems to do the trick. I also managed to find some guitar/banjo etc body IRs don't remember where though. Worth a google?

There are a few options, listed from most expensive to least. - use Variax gear - use Line 6 gear. - use a Roland GK2 pickup and drive either a Roland guitar synth or VG55 processor. - bring an acoustic guitar to your show I use both the last two options, depending on how I'm traveling and how much gear is practical to haul along. I haven't tried the VG55, but I have GR20 and GR33 guitar synths, and both have decent acoustic guitar tones. I generally mix a small bit of dry electric tone with the synth, which improves dynamics control. Using an impulse response in a convolver is an interesting idea. I've heard it works, but haven't tried it for this purpose. I don't know if it would be practical for live work.
