Direct in guitar/computer noise

I would imagine alot of you sit in front of your monitor and record electric guitar and bass. What direct in methods do you use? I kinda have guitar covered but how do y'all deal with the noise? I ain't gonna walk back and forth across the room everytime I record.

for guitar noise use a humbucker pickup/dual coil, and of couse different body positions in relation to the monitor. I use a SansAmp GT2 or the Pod for Guitar/Bass

I don't know if you want to spend a few dollars, but the price of LCD (TFT) monitors is really comming down. They do not cause any EMF noise like a CRT does.

Turn off the monitor when recording your pass. Use automated punch in/out, then turn the monitor back on. no noise. RM

Hi, Use Dimarzio virtual vintage pickups. THey are even quiter than the humbuckers. Mine is quiet even in front of my dual monitors.
