I have a Roland R-70 drum machine, I would like to record midi tracks and monitor them, but I cannot get it to work. I have record some midi tracks, but I cannot get the R-70 to read them. I have the midi in & out hook up. Also now I don't know what I did but I can't get the midi to record. Does someone out there know a basic setup that will work. I am new to midi and finding it to be very confusing. I know I must be missing something but I can't figure it out. I just need a basic setup to record and edite my drum tracks. So any Midi experts please help.

Hiya TC,..... Have you checked out the FAQ's on the digi001 homepage? What you are trying to do is explained in these notes. Nevathaless,........... First thing to do is set up your OMS studio setup. This may seem to be a bit of a mission at first, but the help files are very good and should get you off the ground. You need to define the drum machine you are using, the channels it can send/recieve midi data on and your midi cable configuration then you are ready to move on. In PTle you need to create a new aux input track, and set it's inputs to those your have your drum machine plugged into on the 001. Now create a new midi track and assign it's midi channel to one of those set up in OMS for your drum machine. Place your recorded midi regions/tracks onto this midi track and you should hear them. Remember to push the faders up !!!
