I am working on a rough mix of a new song and would like to get some suggestions on how to improve it. I record using a Shure SM7B goin to a Line 6 Toneport Ux2 and I use Reaper. For bass I use Native Instruments Trilogy Bass and EZdrummer for drums. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds pretty good actually. :) Nice song with a nice feel to it. If I were to make any subjective suggestions... I'm listening with Sony 7506 headphones so... these are just mix suggestions, the tracks sound well recorded to me. I would say try to get a little more definition in the drums. I use EDrummer also and after awhile that room sound can be a bit much. I'd pull back on the EZD room fader just a bit... or eq it some, maybe roll the lows off the room sound to give the kick more definition.

Sounds like a really good start. I find that the drums don't sound like they are being played in the same space as everything else. I would have thought this was a reverb mismatch, but I don't think you can control that with EZDrummer, so perhaps the solution to this is to lower the room fader, which Lawrence already suggested for other reasons. I also think that overall, the levels need some adjusting, but like you said, it is a rough mix so I am sure you will tweak that. The recording sounds nice and clean and you are getting good separation with everything. Nice job. Looking forward to hearing updates, assuming you are going to post some.
