This may be a stupid question..... but..... Is the hype true about DVD-RAM disc editing being easier to do than DVD-R or DVD+R? If so, can the method that is used for DVD-RAM disc editing be used on a hard disk too? Cheers

What to you mean by this? There isn't such thing as DVD-RAM editng. There also isn't such thing as DVD-+R editing. You can just as well create your dvd-video files for example and burn them to dvd-ram. If you have a dvd-rom capable of reading ram discs (such as my Tochiba SD-M1612) or a set top dvd player (mostly from Panasonic) that read them you can enjoy your movie. Forgot to tell you also that you need the dvd-ram redorder to burn it. You can buy one from Toshiba

I thought it was possible to easily cut say, the adverts from an DVD-RAM disc encodes. I'm sure I read somewhere that it used a file system that was akin to mini-disc in this regard! And that you could record on on part of the disc while watching another part of the disc. Personally I have only experienced the Philips DVD+R/RW recorders and sadly not the much respected Panasonic range! Cheers

"I thought it was possible to easily cut say, the adverts from an DVD-RAM disc encodes." Yes it is because it is a re-writeable format. In answer to your previous question. This is a DVD Ram disc:
