I noticed that in your posting on SoundCloud, you started out following a tutorial in Computer Music and that the music took over. You have just experienced one of the magic moments of computer based music, and welcome to the land of Reaper and free VSTis. Careful or you will get addicted. You have incorporated a lot of playful sounds which grabbed my interest. It is a great start. I think that most people who try to write or arrange music struggle with trying to add variety without loosing the feel of a song. Perhaps as you move forward you might try adding some variations on the rhythm and use that as a basis for generating ideas on how to evolve this song (or a new one). Aphex Twin takes this to the extreme like or . My son introduced me to Aphex when he got into recording electronic music big time a few years ago. Really changed my way of thinking about music. For some reason, postings of electronic music on the Reaper forum don't usually get a lot of comments. Don't let that discourage you. T
Hey, thanks for the nice comment and suggestions! What you said is true (about adding variety VS maintaining the feel of a song)... btw, I like aphex twin too! :)

I agree that this is a cool first go at a tune. It's got a great pulse to it. It is kind of strange that electronic stuff doesn't get a lot of feedback. Now, admittedly, I don't normally give feedback for electronic stuff, because it's generally not my bag. I think that it's kind of understandable for the 'rock' people not to respond so much to the 'electronic' people and vice-versa because it is hard to comment on stuff that you're really not qualified to comment on, and just posting 'nice job' or 'sounds great' comes across as trite. What I don't really get though is why don't the electronic folks around here comment on each other's stuff more? This doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, there's lots of you posting, but you just kind of ignore each other's stuff. Where's the shared critique and feedback so everyone can improve? Anyway...
