I believe this comes down to legal reasons, kind of like Lame having to be downloaded separately. But wait Fuity Loops Studio has it as an option on its installer so I don't know. Don't the developers have enuff to worry about right now? Humm I wonder if they can make ASIO4Reaper, ReaASIO, .....
I think it might be a handy idea to include a page in the installer for things like ASIO4ALL and the Reaper manual, with a few checkboxes asking if you'd like to download and install them.
According to the site exeeded its bandwidth quota on a weekend which was hard to fix immediately because it was a weekend. These things happen, even Google is down occasionally, so there's probably nothing to worry about really.
Sorry but I just dont see shoving anyone in the direction of what is in any case a compromise. Instead of ASIO4all, why dont we think mor ein terms of encouraging all newbs to get a decent sound card with ASIO support? They are inevitably going to need one regardless, so why not right at the start when they have already saved a load of bucks from getting reaper so cheap. I mean, there are USB2 single and double input interfaces out there for pocket money prices.
