Does anyone know whether there is a free audio to midi converter. Would be very cool to have it as plugin for Reaper. I know there is WIDI. But is there anything that is free and fairly ok? I mainly would like to use a voice or instrument and transform it into midi so I can test it what it would 'sort of' sound like using a different instrument. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try reagate, reatunes does not seem to come with the trial I'm testing out. Is there some kind of tutorial, short intro on how to do that?

ReaTune is the correct plug for pitch recognition. ReaGate does not translate pitch. It is in there. Look carefully.

I have, and with v 2.59 it is not there. I did look carefully, going through all the plugins. I also did a search using "reatu", and nothing found. Going to the "package content" it indeed shows up in the plugins -> fx. Yet, going to Installfiles of the package content, nothing is found. So there must be some kind of issue. Are you sure reatune is available for mac and if so how can I add it manually?

I just found out that a previous version had a working reatune plugin. Copy/paste the old reatune of a previous Reaper to the new Reaper, actually worked. I'll give reatune a go and see what happens.

I remember reading about Super Eel on this forum, but I haven't tried it. Oops, sorry it's Windows only. I didn't spot this was an OSX thread. Pete
