Hello, First of all, I would like to thank this forum for all the resourceful info on it. It's been really helpful. However, I haven't found an answer to a problem I am encountering at the moment. For a project at work, I need to be able to capture from 2 analog video input at the same time. Composite connectivity but it can be converted to s-video if needed, the cameras are our own deign. I'm taking caring of the video acquisition part, and I need to capture from both sources at the same time, and synchronized of course. The only solution I have found yet is using those 2 USB converters from Imaging Source: It works ok, even though they need their own usb controllers to guarantee the bandwidth. What I am looking for is PCI card with 2 composite inputs that can allow me to capture simultaneously at 25 or 30 fps. Any insight of where to look for such a thing? Thanks in advance for your input.

Take a look at some of the security camera stuff. I've seen hard disk recorders with up to 16 inputs. Googling 'Security Camera' turns up scads of dealers.

Yes you can get BT878-based cards for security cameras with 4 composite inputs. However, the framerate drops as you add more sources, i.e. you can capture from one input at 30fps, but 2 inputs are limited to 15fps each. Having siad that, there's nothing to stop you putting 2 PCI cards in and having one souce connected to each.

If you just need the video, then you'd probably be ok with that, but if quality was a concern the BT878 chipset is old and won't cut mustard.
