I'm currently running on a G4 500mhrz. I'm looking to buy a 1ghz CPU (ouch, $700, I know). Buying a whole new system is out of the question for me, but I dearly need more CPU power. If a 1ghz will run twice as much as I am currently, then that should be enough for you I'd too I'd guess. Anyone else have further input?

look up the post sonnet 1ghz ugrade results.... I tested the sonnet 1 ghz with ptle 5.x and 9.2.2 went from a g4 400 to a 1 ghz, easily doubled my power.... A must for older G4 owners IMHO Also check the powerlogix dual upgrades.... will last you for a few years I am sure....
