Hi- I want to copy several MIDI items from different tracks and paste them to one track. I know I can use implode, but is there a way to paste them to a new track so I don't lose the originals? In SONAR, the command is "Paste to one track" (oddly enough;)). Thanks- -Susan
Just found it. Actions Items - Implode items across tracks into items on one track That should help Kristen and some others trying to comp and glue midi takes too
She'll lose the originals by doing this... I really have no idea, other than to drag-copy or copy-paste track by track. But if I remember Kristen's question correct, it should indeed help her.
Yeah you're you're right Gofer - Okay so a macro is called for to copy and paste them. ..and here it is It will implode and glue them in the track above the first one with your items in, so you may need to create a new track or maybe not. If you don't want to glue leave it out, you can glue later if you like. It then pastes the items back, well to be precise, it pastes them on the track that was selected, so be sure to have the first track selected where you want them pasted before starting. It works good here, you would soon get the hang of it if you use it enough
If you're using sws' and Xenakios' Extensions here you have a macro for it: *It keeps your previous time selection *It keeps your edit cursor position *It keeps your originals Select items and then select destination track BEFORE running this macro This macro's undo points can't be consolidated because it uses internally "Undo" action.
Thanks for the suggestions, all! I knew I could record the items to a single track (and in fact that ability in REAPER is very useful), but I figured there must be a quicker way. I just tried your macro, Mercado, and it works great! Thanks much. -Susan
