Fader not moving if volume automation track not visible

You have: Track with volume automation, set to READ mode. You want: The fader to give you feedback on the volume automation, which is why it's in anything but the Read/Trim or Write mode. The problem/bug: When the envelope is not visible or hidden(same thing) the fader does not move when in READ mode. The automation is being played correctly. Shouldn't the fader move if in READ, TOUCH or LATCH mode ? Reaper v3.102

Absolutely agree. Same with pan faders and send knobs. Faders and knobs should move when in read mode, whether the envelope is visible or not. It's active, so read mode should display movement. I am never sure if I don't accidentally trim things when I move a fader that has a hidden envelope. Imo, hiding the envelope is a means to declutter the tracklist and arrange window when I am done with tweaking that particular parameter. I still want to see what that automation does, which is why I use read mode in the first place. This works for FX envelopes nicely, the gui knobs and faders move even with hidden envelopes, so why should this be different for track envelopes?

I agree, it's an inconsistent behavior. If there is a visible indicator (in this case a fader), it should reflect the actual audible changes of a value.

Dunno, but I will take a hard look at the volume automation and automation in general after 3.53 is out.
