I wanted to see if anyone has prior experience with the NTSC (region 1) version of this movie. It's a 2:3 pulldown, so I do a telecide(order=1,guide=1).Decimate() string in my avs file. At 5 min 4 secs into the movie (showing Jason Voorhees underwater) it freezes for a few seconds (showing the top of the head, then catches up right after the movie scrolls down pass the head). If no one knows what I'm talking about, I'll post a sample.

I do remember something about this... if I remember correctly, there are areas of the film where the gop's are open. Is this possible? How would I check this, would that info appear in a d2v hash? And how could I fix it? Do I have to transcode at 29.970fps, to keep smoothness in the entire movie?

Solved it. Bad first GOP, cut the first group of pictures from the movie, and plays fine.
