Hey All, I'm a little confused about this at the moment. I've added the string "Audio" in Project Settings -> Audio Settings screen as a relative path for REAPER to store any audio data in. When I drag 'n drop an audio file from an external app or through the Media Explorer I want REAPER to move a copy into this directory and use this copy in the project. So far I have only been able to do this by executing "Consolidate/Export tracks" which moves and renames the wav files to the path specified earlier, it also generates a new project file, not sure I like this approach. I just want REAPER to retain the original project and to just pull copies (without renaming the wav files) into the location I've specified. Cheers,

Just do a File > Save As and rewrite the original project file, it will move/copy (depend on what you specified) the files upon this action, any further recordings will also be placed in the new location. e

Hi EricM, I just tried that and it didn't do anything other than save the project file, the audio files are all still in the root project directory, they haven't been moved to the "Audio" directory ... Cheers,

Just check the box called "Copy inserted media to project media directory". It's in Reaper preference, under "media", and kind of does what it says on the tin.

When in "Save As" dialog, did you check "move all media into project directory" checkbox at the bottom left? It works here as described. Could you post the screenshots of your Project Settings, Save As dialog & project folder in explorer/finder? What bullshark suggested works only for newly imported media, not existing media in the project of course. e
Be sure to verify that setting when saving/moving projects that include files from your sample libraries, so you don't delete files from original folder (as you probably wish to keep them there). e
