midi output, but no input ....... SampleTank Help

question. Digi-001 5.1.1.3, Win98se, P3 1ghz I no midi input. I DL'ed SampleTank Free and the free sounds to try, but I can't get it to work right. I searched DUC, checked midi cable, checked settings, midi channels, and all that good stuff. I can open up an "OLD" session with midi and patch in ST and it works ok. But in a new session or trying to record additional midi, I don't get any input to my midi tracks from my keyboard. It seems to be something with Protools. But if I draw in(pencil tool) midi it plays back into what every keyboard channel I want it to and show signal on the channel meters. But no input when I hit a key on the keyboard. Strange!!!!!! no levels on the meters either. Any ideas Thanks

You should try and set your midi in to "ALL", then make sure that Midi thru is checked in the midi menu. Careful not to put "DIGI ALL", Just "ALL". I had the same problem and this seemed to fix it. Best of luck.

And you may also try to enable the 'MIDI thru" at the 'MIDI Menu'

still no luck It must be something I'm overlooking, But I openned an old session with midi, patched in Sampletank and it worked again...... I have the correct channels(in and out) selected and record enabled and there's the sound from Sampletank. I've checked all settings and they are the same as the new session but no levels or sound from the new session. I really think it's something with PT and I've had this problem before just trying to record midi from the keyboard. . I'll keep tryin'
