Hey whatsup. Around? Time to wake this old thread. Just wanted to know if there is a way to "keep" the midi velocity adjustments you make with the midi tool (tools for that sake)? I tried the vel. pre and post filter. If I for instance boost my old yamaha organs standard velocity of 64 to 127 (perceived) in the midi editor, will I somehow be able to actually record/write the notes with "velocity 127"? Never thought about this before, as I figured the notes would be recorded with the velocity I heard. I just saw they kept their low 64 vel in the recorded midi part. Hope I get my point through. I'm rather tired at the moment, and words sort of swim around :)

now i think i understood, you simple want that in the midi editor, the velocity will be 127. of course it can, and it depends. if you record your organ, so the midi incoming from outside, you have to set the velocity on the organ, and it will be recorded. if you can't control the velocity in the organ, one way to do that: you record your organ as above, with midi tool disable (doesn't have to, but preferred i think) then enable the midi tool, set the velocity you need, then when every thing sounds good, right-click on the recorded item "apply track fx midi output" that will create another take with the new velocity, you can explode that take in order, and edit it in the ME. long explain but short and logical task, when you get used to that.

Hmm. Thanks for the ideas whatsup. I think I'll just go for that "apply track..." method. Will work just fine, considering I'm hearing the midi being played at the right vel. setting with midi tool enabled. :)
