This technically isn't supported yet but I was wondering if anyone was able to get PT6 working on the new powerbooks (that won't boot from 9) with an expansion chassis of any sort for the tdm cards. Support said it *might* be added with the 6.0.1 release but they couldn't say for sure. Otherwise it is another 2 months at least.. Thanks everyone, ryland

It's kind of weird. I installed PT 6 with my PBG4 magma, and it seems to be working fine. I opened a big session, played back, futzed around, etc. Streamed 96k 32 track session with heavy edits and tons of plugs off of 1 firewire drive. I wonder what the problem is. Maybe I'll find out as I go along...

I was running a pismo/magma/001 a few years ago that wasn't supported but worked great. I think Digi once said that it may not be supported because they haven't tested it.

digi did say it wasn't supported because it hadn't been tested. i talked to magma yesterday and they said that users were successfully using exp. chassis with 6 and os x but they hadn't tested it themselves. soo it sounds like things will work, but I'll post the results when i test it out myself... and uno, thanks for the heads up.

I have a 667 Ti with a 2 slot Magma, and have had no problems at all running PT 6.0, with OS X 10.2.4. It records and plays back fine, editing is pretty smooth. Its a little slower than 9.22 running 5.31, but OS X is just slower in general, so I don't blame PT for this. However, I haven't switched over for serious work yet--until Pitch n Time is there, it just doesn't make sense for me. Also, the cost of upgrading many plugs makes it rough, at a time of uncertain income. Waves wants $400, BF wants a chunk per plug (I'm giving up on them and their weird hostility), there are a few others as well. I'll switch permanently when I have a big fat budget to help pay for the upgrades. Until then, I'm doing everything in 5.31, except Beat Detective in 6.0 (which is indeed brilliant).
