Any Samplelord users here?

Exquisite balls to the wall player. Go for it. Seems to be thought out by actual musicians. For me, all the knobs and functions in the right place with the least amount of clutter and confusion. All the functions needed. Especially like the vibrato mode to get steel guitar effects. Can load several fonts at once (not to mention many formats). Demo well worth the download to try. Top of the pile if you balance features versus straightforward ease of use. Found out you can piss off the dev with feature requests or complaints, but the forum was shut down and releases have dealt with major issues. CPU load here is within acceptable limits. Love the thing and shelled out the yankee green because it was worth it. Haven't regretted the investment. Ver 2 is somewhere on the horizon. John

Well, I tried the same setup in Cubase SX 2 -- three instances of Samplelord, eight outputs each, all fully loaded with large soundfonts -- and I get a CPU usage of 10% or so when playback is stopped. In REAPER, 40%. So this does indeed seem to be an issue with SL and REAPER. Thoughts, anyone?

Cerendir, Tried your setup (4-out though) with massive fonts and all 3 channels. This is on a quad core XP and 3G RAM. Rest gives 0.4% and it will spike to 0.6% while playing. What kind of system are you running it on. This was also without any added effects. John

Athlon 64 X2 4400+, ECS NFORCE6M-A mobo, 4GB DDR2 SDRAM, Terratec Phase 22, 32 bit Win XP Pro SP3. Not a performance monster by any means but it's usually able to handle most things I throw at it. And oh, SL is set to Normal quality BTW.

Cedendir, Got an AMD 64x2 also around here somewhere. Will try that one also and see what the load is. John
