I don't know theese products but they come from Canada(for power amps at least) and it is cheaper in Canada and this is a o****ry whi has a good high end sound record average so it could be a hard to beat deal! IMHO But I know Bryston amps and they are great!! so for the rest...

I've a pair of IB1's as my main monitors, and I'm just upgrading my nearfields to a pair of AML1's. They sound fantastic. I first heard them in a mastering room where they showed up digital clicks and other mix problems which hadn't been noticed on the monitors in the studio it was recorded in. I bought some for myself after that. You get a much greater bass extension through the transmition line design than with other similar sized speakers - so no need for a sub. Also they sound the same whether you are listening quietly or driving them hard, so you can ease up on your listening levels. Service wise I had a mid range driver develop a fault (3 years old) and they replaced it by return at no charge. By the way they are made in the UK, but have teamed up with Bryston Amps (from Canada) to provide active versions and matching amps for passive designs.

Have you auditioned the Dyneaudio's AIR 15's. That is serious stuff. The local PT dealer has them.... I have heard a variety of the Canadian stuff...sounded very good...worth the money... but heck, those Air 15's just messed me up....You can adjust the crossover point with software, according to your room..... PMCs are great reference speakers. We use them alot in mastering houses here in the UK. I've used the smaller LB1 in a 5.1 room with sub which worked really well (w/pro control etc). Powered by the wonderful Bryston amps! I would check/listen before you buy. The LB1 to me lack bottom end without the sub. I think I would still mix on my KRKs and then check back with PMCs. Sometimes perfection in monitoring is really frustrating when soloing problem tracks! I've heard the DynAudio AIR system in 5.1, in the same room as the PMCs (demo set) and wasn't impressed. Great idea, but in practise doesn't work. All this digital modelling technology is great, but not the same.

We use the AML-1's as our reference speakers. They replaced the Genelecs as the preferred choice. Everyone said, "too harsh!" at first, but the incredible definition won everyone later. They worked great in a L-C-R config when we did some film work, and we will also use them soon for 5.1 with a PMC sub. Tough in a soffited console situation, because they are tall and cannot (should not) be used sideways. And our Manhattan dealer, Studio Consultants, accomidated a week long trial for us. Great service! We did have some hippity-hizoppers blow a woofer, which was $350, soo keep them away from the kids, and you will be more than happy. Mike

We have BB5s (the expensive monsters) and see many MB2s coming through with scoring mixers. They are fantastic. The BB5 is probably the best sounding LOUD speaker I have ever heard. The MB2s are also terrific, but of a more manageable size and price. I have to say I'm not crazy about the AML1, although it does allow adjustment of its frequency response.
