welcome to the forum. this is your 2nd post with exactly the same content. this is known as cross posting (eventhough no 'cross' is involved, since both posts are in the same forum). and this is against the forum rules, which u had 5 days to read, and 'lurk' around on this forum. since we're nice ppl, and i don't wanna strike you on your 1st post here, i'll only warn you: READ THE FORUM RULES AND DON'T BREAK THEM, PLS! now, posting as many questions as u did will will probably not get u any decent answers. i suggest that you post these questions again, each one in it's own thread (if such thread doesn't already exist), in the best forum. also, pls search the forum and the guides to see if you can find answers to some of your questions. cheers avi
Thanks for the info and the understanding. How does one CROSS POST? I've done a saerch on CROSS POST and came up with no hits regards placing a post more than once on a board. Also, I looked into the FAQ again and didn't any issue regards CROSS POSTing. I also checked my status and was told I posted only one message. Further, I did a search on terms within my post to see if another more than one post existed and found only one message. I am geniunly concerned that I may have already broken the rules considering how valuable this site has been to me during the past 5 days. Please bare with me...I will get it right!
In case you didn't find it on top of this page, in your mailbox, in the agreement you had to "subscribe", here you go: I hope this helps to clarify. Regards, Koepi
Thanks for replying. I did go to 3 retailers (even tried TWEETER - which used to be Home Entertainment in my area - was pretty high tech) and none of them knew anything about SVCD. 2 of the sources I tried had lousy demo support. 1 DID have a rack of players and monitors but the rep didn't know what did what...worse, the units that DID play the disc were not labeled as such and the rep couldn't find the papaerwork. All in all, it was a crap experiance. ___________________________________________ Your response regards DVD's playing SCVD streams is sort of what I was looking for. It seems you suggest that players make a distinction on the media rather than the files contained upon it. That seems counter intuitive - ya know?
Houston must have a Walmart . Go there and buy an APEX for your svcd's . @ $69. Can't go wrong . I have an expensive Toshiba and it hasn't been used for months ( I'm waiting for the cheap APEX to break , but it hasn't yet ). A lot of the people here recomend them highly . It plays everything I throw at it . I'd buy a dvdr , but with the quality I get using DVD2SVCD, CCE as the encoder and less than a buck for 2-3 cdr's , why spend $6-12 ea. for dvdr's , not to mention the $400 for the drive . Try using DVD2SVCD to make really good svcd's by reading the guides ,searching the forums and tweaking the settings .Cdr's are a much cheaper way to learn . That's just my 2 cents worth . Good luck !
