I hope I'm not misunderstanding: -- in the Mixer, click the [fx] button on the Master control panel, -- in the FX Browser, select the fx you want to insert, -- drag it into the FX chain window -- do the same for the next FX HTH

The term "FX Chain" refers to the seriesw of FX added to a track. They are essentially Insert FX. So if you added 3 FX to a track then they would be in the FX chain for that track. And if you added 2 FX to the master track they would be in the FX chain for the Master track. I have never known of a (software) mono FX blowing up a stereo track :). I would think that the mono FX is applied to only 1 of the two stereo channels, with the other channel not being affected. ================================================ Make sure that you purchase Nicholas' excellent User Guide and ReaMix docs too. Worth their weight in gold. User Guide:.. ReaMix:....... Purchase:.... Distribution:. Nicholas has also written "Home Recording for Beginners", available at all good book shops: If you can, get hold of a copy of the Computer Music Beginner's Guide Special #32 - it's full of tutorials for beginners, using Reaper. This site will ship it internationally:

Ok... got more questions relating to Reaper and the UAD effects. I did easily find the FX for the master stereo buss and I also did finally receive and install my new UAD Nevana card. My question is... how does Reaper handle plugins both on the channel strip and the master buss when the plugin is stereo. Again, I am mainly familiar with the discontinued EMU Ensoniq Paris system, and if I would place one of their stereo DSP effect (say chorus) onto a mono track, it would turn it into stereo, with stereo adjustments. I see the UAD effects listed in my VST area and some are mono, some are stereo. Does Reaper allow a mono track to be turned into stereo if using a stereo effect? Same with the master stereo buss. Anyone know how reaper handles plugins there (mono vs stereo). This was a very important feature in Paris and I am really really surprised it is not mentioned more, nor is it covered in the documentation. In fact, as I am learning things, I rate the wiki docs for Reaper about a 4 or 5... too much is missing! Last question... I am using a UAD Compressor on several tracks with the same settings... is there a way to group a bunch of tracks to use the same VST plugin instead of 10 different plugin instances? If no one can help me with my questions, can you provide me with a url or location I can learn or find these answers about Reaper? Thanks... ~ peace
