Hello, I just started getting to know reaper a month ago and I must say that in a few specific workflow and ease of editing it surpases cubase (which I always have used the last 10 years). However there's just a few little issues i'm having with how channels are routed of VSTi's that allow multiple audio channels. Somehow the audio routing done by reaper when auto creating 18 channels don't seem to work , so how does one do this ? Drumazon for example: allows all it's sounds to be routed to one audio channel, but it doesnt seem to work on other channels than the first. Also: when i'm trying to choose a new tempo , the midi blocks don't really correspond well anymore. If I set the tempo slower, the blocks just start moving apart and you need to reconnect them. How can you solve this ? cd

Hi :) thx, i've changed the project accordingly (regarding the midi items. ANyway I was giving misleading information about the channel routing. Actually that worked just fine, but it's the way midi is handled. If I create a midi item on say channel 2 , it won't send that midi to drumazon. THe audio is routed right but I wonder where you tell midi to send to the virtual instrument. (and the correct channel)

MIDI sends are handled equally to audio sends. Just add a send from the midi track to the vsti track and set audio to none and midi to the channels you need for that send. You can set the channels to change on their way through the send by just setting the boxes accordingly. You can also change channels via a midi plugin (js: midi tools or the like), if you need a realtime channel change on one and the same track. Or you select all notes in the midi editor and change the channel in the rightclick menue. And if you are painting in your notes in the editor you can chose the apropriate channel in the view dropdown before inserting notes.
