HOW long have I been using reaper,- HOW many times have I privately moaned to myself that there was no lassoo select!? I've only just found it! haha! no more - shift or ctrl selecting stuff! Seriously though,- this is silly,- left drag should be lassoo and right click should do the select-y stuff- that's why it's taken me so long to discover, it's not intuitive. Anyone else didn't know this or am I the only one? Kind regards Dave Rich
I think you may, in deed, be the only one. actually I am sure that we have all felt that way at one time or another. and after all the time I have spent with r-click lasso... i find the l-click lasso in other products to be annoying :D I am sure I could be re-trained .t
Poor Dave... ;) I remember I also had problems with this paradigm shift in the beginning. But after a while I found out it's much faster and more intuitive that way for me. And now I find myself quite often trying to rightclick-to-lasso-select items on my windows desktop, lol. I can see how this can be confusing for new people, but still, I'd like to keep it the way it is.
I also tend to try rightclick lassoing in other apps, I take this as an indication of how good this paradigm actually is. But(!) on the MIDI editor's controller lanes rightclick drag will erase events which I suspect to be a trap Cockos advertedly put there especially for me to stumble in. That is just mean! The universal Reaper tipp "rightclick everything" can only be given tongue in cheek when talking MIDI...

well... Now I feel completely left out hehe. OK. First time the user left-click and drags on the arrangement window there should be a popup about right-click drag. That's what I think. This is too important to leave as it is IMO. Kind regards Dave Rich
Dave - Don't feel bad. I didn't know you could do it until I saw one of Tallisman's Freeze videos. By the way, is you? If so, holy crap! You can play REALLY GOOD man!!!!! :)
