Hi I just finished putting together my P4 system. When I boot the system, I get the this message after the POST screen: "Reboot and select proper boot device or boot media in selected boot device". Before installing XP Home I changed the boot sequence to read CD ROM first so that I could boot from the XP CD. After getting this message I changed boot sequence to read the hard drive first but it still gives me the same message no matter what boot sequence I use. However, if I press the reset button, I am able to get into XP. My system specs are: Intel D875PBZ m/board Intel P4 CPU (2.40CGhZ) 512 MB RAM DDR400 32 MB graphics card Plextor CDRW 80 GB WD HDD (system drive) set to master on primary IDE 80 GB Maxtor Audio Drive (in the computer case but not connected to anything) CDRW set to master on secondary IDE. I haven't installed PTLE 6.1.1. as yet. Awaiting delivery today. I would be most grateful if someone could help me solve this problem. Thanks Lennon

Thanks for your reply Tomy. What I did was connect the audio drive and everything worked perfectly. My machine booted straight into XP in under 30 seconds. No more error messages. While I'm at it, I would like to thank Allen Hallada for his "Best System for PTLE" thread. This is the first time ever that I put a system together from scratch and the resources found on that thread was excellent. Tonight I will be installing PTLE 6.1.1. Hope all goes well, if not, I'll be back here on the DUC in the mornin'. Thanks again Allen.
