Hi there ive just started using reaper and i was wondering if there was a way to permanently delete a file from the arrangement screen, ive just defected from tracktion2 and am so hyped on reaper, it shits on everything, in tracktion i could clickj on a file an press eg "Ctrl D" and i would delete the file, no recycle bin or files left in the project folder, i know reaper comes up with the option to delete just recorded track, but what if i want to listen to it for awile first or decide i dont like a track alot later in the project..... is there a quick way to delete a file? Thanks Caustic

Welcome to the Forums! Options->Preferences->Audio->Recording There you'll find options for recording. Maybe you're interested on Prompt save/delete new files: (__) on stop (__) on punch-out/play. If you want to save automatically all recorded files into your project's directory do not check any of these 2 options. After you finish your recording session you can go to File->Clean current project directory... and delete/remove all files you're not using in your project. In that window there's an option you could check/ucheck depending on your needs: (_) Send files to recycle bin (safer). NOTE: you must be careful when deleting/removing files from your project's directory because some of them may be used by another session/project.
