I'm trying to convert a divx clip to dvd. This is my first time doing this. I've used the program lots of time with success when compressing a dvd9 down to a dvd5, but this time when going from avi to dvd the result is that the colors are inverted. Anyone?

Lets try to solve this step by step. The original avi plays well? If yes (I think so), try to play the avisynth_script.avs in the D2S working directory. Just drag it to Your media player. Is it still good? If no, post that file here. (You can open it with netepad, it is only a few lines) If the .avs is OK try to play the encoded_video.mpv. I'm not sure about the file name, but the extension is .mpv and it is about 4GB. You have to rename it to .m2v to be able to play on some media players. If it is still OK, somethig goes wrong in scenarist.

Hang on! I remoted my home pc and was able to see enough. I played avisynth_script.avs in media player and the guy's face was still blue so it was not good. Here's what I got when I opened the file in notepad. Hope it's what you need; LoadPlugin("C:\Program\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.5PL\Mpeg2dec\MPEG2D~1.DLL") AVISource("E:\dc\HIPPHI~1.AVI",False) ConvertToYUY2() BicubicResize(720,576,0.0,0.6) Import("E:\vobs\test\ResampleAudio.avs") ResampleAudio(44100)

And the original avi plays OK... The problem is narrowed to avisynth. There is nothing in the script, that can couse color inverting, so it is OK and sholuld play fine. Lets do some experimenting, but first create a copy of the avs file, not to edit the original. Try#1: Please delete the last 2 lines, they are not needed for video. Check the result. Try#2: Try to uninstall than reinstall avisynth. I think U use ver 2.5, try also v2.0. Download both Try#3: check the version of your MPEG2DEC*.DLL. You can have more such DLLs. Such as MPEG2DEC.DLL and MPEG2DEC3.DLL. Have You changed the MPEG2DEC.DLL? I mean there are a lot of versions downloadable on the net. In v2.53 there is a command, that solves your prob, but it is only 'symptomatic treatment', does not solve the source of the problem: Just try to add this line to your avs script as the 3rd line '(before ConvertToYUY2()'): Invert("RGB") OH, which codec is used on your comp to decompress this DivX file? Check it with Gspot.

I tried #1 - same inverted result. #2 I have now uninstalled 2.5, that was what was shown in add/remove progs. I have also downloaded 2.08 and installed it. I also tried the conversion again using the same small clip. This time CCE froze at 85%. I tried a second time and this time it didn't freeze(?)(I am overclocking but it never freezes when (have hade freezes in the past and I'm scared to death of 'em) I'm encoding regular dvd's. I should say however that I haven't done this since I formated the disc and reinstalled xp the last time) and result seem to be correct!!! :):):):) I can't get a really good view when remoting like this but the colors seems to be ok now! Just hope I'm right :) You're a god!!!! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! About the codec I'm not sure what I use. I have had massive trouble with that since the format. Somtimes no sound, and if I install nimo for instance, the media player crashes immediatly and so on. It's driving me nuts! Again, many thanks!!!

Im happy to been able to help. About the codec: nimo is not good. ACE mega codec pack works fine for me. About CCE freezes: You running AMD? If yes, check resample audio checkbox to prevent CCE freez. This will add the last 2 lines to the avs script. Those ones, that you deleted. I think freeze appeared becouse of this. The original avs script, that you did not edit should work well.
