Subtitle Help

Guys thanks for the help. Usually there isn't much of a problem, but with Episode 1, being the only DVD of the 6 movies, did I have this problem. Epsisodes 4-6 all had the subs for Jabba burnt in to the movie. So again thanks for the help.

Sorry for the sort of double post, but I just found this thread... (also just posted my own thread). I can't seem to get the subs to turn up in the later dvd's, not just ep.1. i.e. no subs in ep.s 4-6 either. Any suggestions? -Sion

Finding the right forced subs 

You just need to experiment with the different subtitlte tracks with forced subs on and forced subs off until you get the perfect combination. Preview is faster than fully encodig. Even faster is using VSRip to pull all the subs twice. Then view the subs with SubResync. (VSRIP merges regular and forced subs, so you need to run it once with all subs and once selecting just force subs) You also have to watch out because there are subtitle tracks that contain both alien speech and the name of whose talking in the directors commments. So you may think you got it right then see Lucas appearing at the top of the screen. VSRIP, SubResync takes the guesswork out.
