xp tips

Hi...anyone have some good tips on configuring xp for pro tools le/001any cool websites on that? I'm getting a lot of setup errors on "increasing the hardware buffer size/audio is conflicting with other CPU tasks" and so on!What about this I heard:change the ACPI uniprocessor setting to standard PC...or something like that.Please

Nice little tips. Work or Not!

First of all, get yourself a fast P4 with plenty of memory and an asus mainboard. Get rid of high-end 3d-cards, networkcards, raid-controllers and get yourself two fast hd's (7200rpm). Loose all your other soundcards and disable (in BIOS) the one that came with your mainboard, if any. Format both you drives and install a fresh copy of XP WITH service pack. Dont use a crack . Dont install games and tweak windows XP. Go to for this. For easy tweaking get TweakUI from powertoys. (be carefull, cause you can ruin your os with it!) Good luck!
