I would like to know if i need DV Toolkit or Digitranslator is enough for what i am doing. I am doing post audio for short movies. The editors are using FInal cut or Avid product and want to send me OMF files in order for me to work on the project while they are finalizing the cut. Now i understand that Digitranslator would enable me to open an OMF file but is there any advantage for me to have Timecode functions that DV Toolkit gives ( i already have the plug-ins that comes with it and don't really need 48 tracks support ). I guess i am wondering how ProTools would rebuild the session from an OMF file without having Timecode in order to know where to place things..... Thank you Pascal
+1 on getting the DVTK2 package. Another reason is that if you will be needing to spot FX and or ADR or Dialog. It will also make the session behave and look like an HD session. In terms of workflow there is a lot less rethinking and use of workarounds. Since I work on HD and LE rigs this is a no brainer, they just act the same (minus track counts in a large session) and that is a huge time saver as you navigate through a project. Wilson Dyer mpse
