The MIDI items now open by default in the inline MIDI editor, but I don't want that. Maybe I change something inadvertently? Can someone help me? Thanks!

When/how does this happen? With newly created/recorded items? When you doubleclick items? What happens if you close the inline editor for the item(s), save and reopen the project? Im a bit flabbergasted by this one as don't recall anything in the prefs about defaulting to inline-editor (hope i'm wrong about this)

This happens with a project I've been working on for weeks. Until today, all of my MIDI editor windows opened in a separate window. Now, all new MIDI items created open in the Inline editor, as well a newly glued items. All the exisiting MIDI items open in a normal separate window. I double-click to access the MIDI editor. When I right click to select open in built in MIDI editor, it still opens in the inline editor. What's weird is that when I select open with inline editor, I get this: And I can edit the MIDI data in that tiny window! When I close the project, it does the same thing. I reinstalled Reaper, after uninstalling it completely. It does the same thing.

Errm, that pic shows an item opened with Reaper's inline editor. Which is what you asked for ("when I select open with inline editor, I get this:"). I guess your confusing inline editor with something else, but am not sure what. Can you make a pic of: "Now, all new MIDI items created open in the Inline editor, as well a newly glued items."?
