Deleting an audio file while removing it from session?

Is this possible? It would be very useful to get rid of a very heavy .wav stem when I need to go back to the original track and do changes, and I tend to lose control if I have to go and look for the stems that I'm not using amongst the ones I am using to delete them. My hard drive space is limited and processing power sucks so I have to render a lot, but then get my hard drive cluttered with repeated .wavs of renders that I don't use anymore

use the filter in Actions ...type in the word Clean.... you'll get the action to clean current project folder... run that and see what you learn.

yeah I know about clean current project folder, I was thinking if there was a "direct" way to just delete it from your project and automatically delete the file itself from the hard drive. Cleaning the project folder will work for me now in my latest sessions, my previous sessions were a mess and I had different .wav files from different sessions in a same folder and other messy stuff. But thanks anyway dude!

surely.... well no other way that I know about... I always have a project 'saved as' with it's own sub folder and all the audio files in an Audio Files folder in the project and with 'copy all media to project' checked.... that mostly works but I have seen it miss a file on rare occassions...

Hey wyatt I do have the sws extension but I'm still finishing to read the Reaper manual so I haven't gotten to read on all the features of the extension, thanks a lot for that cause that's exactly what I was looking for!

Your welcome, You can also put any of the actions where you want them using the menu editor. For example, I have mine set to delete item, and source (right click menu), when I right click on the item. Cool stuff! Edit: I have mine set to send it to the recycle bin, just in case I need it back. Regards, Wyatt
