Well, Cooledit could do it, normally. I opened the wave from V-dub in Cooledit. I added a wave (in fact they are both mp3, but in ACM waveform) from the same movie - so they are identical in their characteristics - and tried to save them again. ACM waveform: MP3, 159bitrate and 20kHz (even if the avi properties name it as 48kHz - as it should be). It asks to change it to 48kHz, 16-bit stereo. I think it is originally like this, but anyway. I say yes. Then it asks to change it to 4-bit stereo. Then again, it says, there are still problems in saving and anyway, the soundclip has become terrible. Are you still there? Any ideas? And I think I know Cooledit pretty well - and it's not a demo... I don't know.
