Hi- Sorry if this has been covered before, but how do I assign or "MIDI Learn" (say) a rotary on my BCR2000 to control (say) a Volume or Pan envelope on an audio track? I see how to do this for FX parameters, but I can't figure out how to do it for a simple audio track. TIA! -Susan

You can assign MIDI CC controllers "permanently" as Actions: - open the Actions List - filter for "volume" - select the track you want to control (04 in the screenshot) - click [Add] - twiddle the controller/slider - set the CC mode if needed - click [OK] Here's a screenshot: Big pic: I'd like this though:

There's also an action to control only the selected track(s) via cc. Which I find a bit more convenient. There is no such thing as a bank switch for the '... for track X' actions and I couldn't bind as many tracks as I needed with those... what if I wanted to control track 100? I guess it's about time to think of a FR for bank switching the 'set Volume', 'set Pan' as well as 'toggle Mute/Solo', 'toggle FX Bypass' and 'toggle record arm' actions. How do people even use those at the moment?

Hi- You've all given me excellent ideas -- many thanks! I think I've finally gotten it through my thick head to always look in the Action List first!:) I can go ahead with this info and set up a very useful BCR2000 preset. [BrokenRecordMode] Now if only REAPER would let us control MIDI vol/pan as easily! ;)[/BrokenRecordMode] Thanks again- -Susan

As I'm not using any outboard synths I've not had to tackle this. What I have done with my Little Midi Keyboard controller(E-Mu Xboard25) is assign some of it's Rotary controls to tracks to use as volume and pan controls.Don't know if that helps?
