I have a new version of ScenChap. It's completely rewritten and adds two new features: - IFO file support. ScenChap now reads IFO files directly. You no longer need to copy/paste from ChapterXtractor. Instead, drop the IFO file on ScenChap and press the "Copy From IFO" button. - D2F file support. I've found some DVDs (R1 Amelie, R1 Harry Potter) to have errors in the information reported in the IFO. To get around this I added support for D2F files. These are a new file created by a modified version of DVD2AVI. The D2F file is like a D2V file, but it includes VOB/CELL boundary information. ScenChap uses a D2F file to get exact chapter positions, accurate to the frame. Dead links deleted (Geocities deleted my account. Please get the files from the Doom9 download page.) You must use this version of DVD2AVI to enable the D2F feature. (Unmodified DVD2AVI doesn't create a D2F file.) I've tested D2F with several NTSC Force Film projects. Eventually I will test NTSC Interlaced too, but those are must less frequent for me. If anyone tries PAL please let me know how it works.

Yes, the old version (1.11 and earlier) was written in perl. The new version (1.20 and later) is written in python with a small DLL written in C. However, you don't have to have python installed to use it. It's self contained.

hmm.. makes one wonder if the 2.5mb zip is really necessary if you use a programmming language that is compiled, not interpreted ;)

A couple minor fixes. Video streams can have start times other than 00:00:00:00 now, and ScenChap adjusts automatically. It also limits the names of scenes to 25 characters to make Scenarist happy. I've also done some testing with interlaced projects, and everything appears to work, so I've rewritten the help file to encourage people to use D2F files for all formats. To keep things small I'm just posting an update. You need to extract this into your ScenChap 1.20 directory, overwriting existing files.
