I saw an ad for this PC for sale. Seems like a good deal but I'm a little in the dark with the mobo/processor combo, here's a few details: mobo: SOYO SY-K7V DragonPlus (never heard of it) AMD Socket-A based VIA KT266A ATX chip:Athlon AMD XP1800 XP 512mb DDRAM/80gig HD 7200 rpm g-force Nvidia graphics card 64mb etc, a bunch of other stuff like Sony CD-RW and all. He mentions hebui;t this machine 2 months ago for about $1200 and will sell for $1000 or best offer. He's selling because of a new job which requires a Mac. Is it worth looking into? thanks for any advice! pk

I've got a Soyo Dragon mobo (not the plus the earlier version)... It rocks w/ Protools... sounds like a pretty good system to me. You need to make sure he hasn't been overclocking and that it's in good condition but if there are no problems w/ it... nab it. (imho). chris

PK, I would say with prices being what they are for things now buying a used computer from an individual who built it himself gives more risk than possible return. It reminds me of the old amplifiers kits people use to build (like Heathkit, Dynaco and the early Hafler stuff)they all worked but had little flaws that the builder put in them with their level of expertise. Just a thought
