There are times that I feel if I could just split my D2V file into the proper sizes, I would have more control over the size of my rips. Is there an effective way of doing this? DVD2AVI allows it but it ain't that precise.

Instead of "spliting" a d2v file, you could just tell your encoder which portion of the movie you want encoded. Then you can encode each portion separately. I think this method would be a lot easier. In VirtualDub, you can do this by going to Video, Select Range... In the window that appears, you can tell VirtualDub which frame to start at and which frame to end at. *Edit* Wait, I just thought of this. Are you trying to use the split d2v's in Gordian Knot? If yes, then my method won't work. Sorry.
