Greetings All! I've downloaded Reaper, spent two days searching for an amp simulator program, and settled on (for now) Fretted Synth. I downloaded the program, but when I try to open the program, I'm asked to choose a program to open the dll file. Im on a Dell Inspiron 1501 running windows Vista and cant get the plug in to open.....any ideas??? PS....if this program is half as cool as the forums are, I feel I,m in GREAT company! Joe

Welcome to the Reaper forums photojoe! Fretted Synth is a VST plugin that is opened inside Reaper. Create a file and name it something like VST plugins on your hard drive (but NOT in the reaper folder). Put the dll file (along with any manuals and additional files) into that folder. Now open Reaper and select options\preferences\VST and on the top right hit the add button to direct Reaper to your main VST folder (reaper will automatically look in subfolders). Click the button that says rescan directory, and now when you hit the fx button on the mixer Fretted Syth will be in the fx browser window. You can have sub folders, so for fretted syth it would be something like C\VST plugins\fretted syth\(then the dll and additional files)
Hey zappsunzorn, You Da man!!!! One other stupid question if I may....I've recorded a track, but cant hear any audio. I only have my computer speakers for now. Do I need to use the headphone(dont have any headphones yet) output on my Presonus Audiobox or can I use my speakers? Thanks again!
You should be able to use your speakers. On playback, are the Master level meters in Reaper showing an audio signal. If so, then Reaper is certainly sending the audio out to the defined audio outputs (see Options > Preferences > Audio > Devices) The outputs, presumably, are your Presonus Audiobox. You'll need to check its settings too.
